Sergio Ezama

PepsiCo Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa

Sergio is currently Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, PepsiCo Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa. He joined PepsiCo in 2001 and since then went through a number of different HR leadership assignments: Spain Operations HR Manager (2001/03), Iberia Operations HR Manager (2003/4), Iberia HR Director (2004/07) and South Europe HR Director (2007/8) where he had responsibilities for 10 different markets (Spain, Portugal, Israel, Greece, Cyprus, Rumania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Bosnia and Croatia).

In January 2009, Sergio moved to the Europe Sector Headquarters in Geneva where he successfully drove the HR agenda for the Sales, Marketing, Finance, IT and Human Resources European teams.

After a short stint as Project Director for the Europe Operating Model Review, in July 2010 Sergio was appointed CHRO, East Europe Region with responsibilities over 16 countries where PepsiCo has >6 Bn Business (USD) with more than 40.000 associates and 45 plants following the acquisition of the largest Dairy business in Russia and CIS.

In September 2012, Sergio was appointed PepsiCo Inc. SVP Global Talent Management and Development based out of our Global Headquarters in New York. During his assignment Sergio had responsibility over Talent Development, Learning, Succession, Organization Design and Talent Analytics for PepsiCo globally.

In October 2014, Sergio was appointed Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, PepsiCo Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa based out of Geneva, Switzerland. In this role, Sergio leads the Human Capital Management Agenda for our European business (USD 14 Billions in revenues) covering 45 different countries and 55.000 associates.

Prior to PepsiCo, Sergio spent 4 years in various HR Management roles at Ericsson (Leading Swedish Telecom Company) and before that worked for a number of Law firms.

Sergio holds a BS in Law from University of Deusto and a Master Degree in Juridical Practice (University of Deusto), Human Resources Management (University of Deusto) and Health and Safety Management (H&S European Institute). Most recently he is a Harvard alumnus after completing the General Management Program at HBS.
